The Client - Holiday Inn French Quarter (Our client since 1996) 

Our Client's Story

Since 1967, the Holiday Inn French Quarter in Perrysburg, Ohio was a favorite spot of local and out-of-town guests. Sadly, the hotel closed March 31, 2019.

The French Quarter’s 52-year run ended “due to changes in the marketplace and with the Holiday Inn brand,” according to a report from 13ABC.

For nearly half of the hotel’s life, we provided its On Hold Marketing, informing callers about the Holidome recreation area, the annual New Year’s Eve party, the prime rib and seafood buffets in J. Patrick’s Pub, and the many amenities. As a tribute to our long-time client, we’ve named their last production our On Hold Marketing of the Month.

“Many, many thanks,” wrote Brenda Fey, the French Quarter’s General Manager. “You’ve been such a good partner.”

In the same 13ABC report, Ms. Fey expressed her appreciation to past guests. “We have enjoyed being part of your family traditions and the countless happy memories created here through multiple generations. We’re sincerely grateful for all the personal and business friendships we’ve enjoyed over these last 50 years. The loyalty of our guests and staff is amazing and makes it hard to say goodbye.”

The Client - Sofos Foods (Our client since 1996)

About This Production

While conducting research for the new Sofo Foods On Hold Marketing update, Creative Consultant Bob Seybold found a video promoting "Signature Showcase," the company's annual Spring trade show. Bob downloaded the video, then re-edited it in order to feature the testimonials from show attendees in the On Hold Marketing.

"I love working with Sofo’s because they trust us to innovate and find new ways to bring their marketing message to callers," said Bob. "Re-shaping content from one channel to reach another audience is a great way to get more value from your marketing and reinforce a common message."

Our Client

Now in its third generation of family ownership, Sofo Foods has been Toledo's premier Italian foods specialty store for more than half a century. Sofo's is a wholessaler, retailer and importer of a great variety of meats, cheeses, pastas, baked goods, olive oils, wines and more. They also ship non-perishable foods around the country.

The Client - Farmers and Merchants State Bank (Our client since 2000)

About Our Client

Talk about a long history! F&M Bank was founded in 1897, and they’ve been headquartered in Archbold, Ohio since they first opened. Today, F&M works with the people of northwest Ohio and eastern Indiana through their 30 locations.

Because of the rich agricultural heritage of the area they serve, F&M Bank has always worked in support of farmers. Providing a wide array of personal banking services and helping commercial customers has also been a key to the bank’s growth and success.

Our Relationship

As of February 2019, BusinessVoice has been providing On Hold Marketing to F&M Bank for nearly decades. We’ve also created and distributed their monthly email marketing content for many years.

The Client - Blanchard Valley Medical Associates (Our client since 2004)

What We Did

We’ve been providing healthy information to BVMA’s callers for years, but this production features a twist: a sounder. It’s the quick electronic bells you hear right away and several more times throughout the audio.

That two-tone sounder is designed to draw audience attention to the quick messages about Blanchard Valley: content on BVMA’s hours, prescriptions, the types of information they provide on their website, even an invitation to take an online survey.

The sounder also differentiates what callers are about to hear as unique from the health tips we deliver throughout the rest of the On Hold Marketing.

And since the BVMA-specific messages are quicker than the rest of the content, the sounder serves as an alert to “listen now” so callers don’t miss the important details. It's a good tool to use when you'd like to emphasize certain types of messaging.

The Client - Town and Country Hotel (Our client since July 2018)

What Our Client Wanted

In the summer of 2018, we received this message: “We are looking for funny On Hold Messaging that represents our quirky and retro-California style at the Town and Country Hotel in San Diego.”

Now that’s our kind of request!

We love working with clients who see the value in taking a humorous approach with their marketing. In fact, the T&C team was already sprinkling fun elements into their guest experience, including a ceramic bunny garden and their locally famous sign that features light-hearted comments.

So, after we designed an On Hold Marketing program for the hotel, we got to work on their Humor On Hold content.

Who They Are

Town and Country first opened in 1954. After more than six decades in business, much of the property still retains a mid-century modern look. And after their renovations have been completed, the hotel will look even more like a resort from the 1950s and ‘60s.

Naturally, they wanted On Hold Marketing that’s reminiscent of that era as well. So, we worked in references to Soviet-era satellites, hairdos, activity belts, pink flamingos and that laugh riot known as the cold war. Then we backed up the voiceover with three tracks of the surf-rock-style music our client requested.

The Client - Ray’s Trash Service (Our client since July 2009)

About Our Client

Based in central Indiana, Ray’s Trash provides waste disposal and recycling services for residential, commercial and industrial customers across 17 counties. They also offer demolition, disaster clean-up, document destruction and land clearing. Founded in 1965, Ray’s now has seven locations.

A Fun Take

We’ve been making light of trash collection and Ray’s other services for several years now, both on hold and on air. In the Spring of 2017, we produced a humorous radio campaign for the company that earned several awards, and we consistently employ Humor On Hold to entertain Ray’s callers while also informing them.

Yes, opting for a humorous approach to marketing may seem obvious if your business revolves around garbage, but we can introduce levity into your content even if you think there’s nothing inherently funny about what your company does.
