The Client - Stancato’s (Our client since 2007)

A Long Family Tradition

Located near Cleveland, Ohio, Stancato’s Italian Restaurant opened five decades ago, but its food service roots date back to 1938. That’s the year Pasquale Stancato started selling breakfast from a pushcart to local steel workers. A truck soon replaced the cart, and that single vehicle eventually grew to a fleet of 19 food trucks.

Pasquale’s four sons expanded the business by opening Stancato’s Spaghetti and Steak House in 1971. Since then, the family has treated generations of Clevelanders to delicious pasta, pizza and Italian specialties.

Tasty Content

When we create On Hold Marketing for Stancato’s, we work to whet each caller’s appetite for a great dining experience with family and friends. We also broaden the brand’s appeal by 1) encouraging shoppers to purchase Stancato’s products at area grocery stores and 2) inviting callers to hold their next event at the restaurant, whether it’s an anniversary party or a work-related banquet.

The Writer’s Thoughts

“I’ve been writing for Stancato’s since 2015,” said Creative Consultant Andrea Poteet. “We always try to write warm, friendly copy that helps callers feel welcome.”

Andrea also reminds callers to sample the restaurant’s newest dishes and take home their favorite sauces.

The Client - CBTS (Our client since 2003)

What They Do

Formerly known as SunTel Services, CBTS re-branded in 2018. The company works from the earliest consulting stages through implementation to help customers develop cloud strategies, correct security vulnerabilities, develop interactive experiences and provide related services.

The Writer’s Thoughts

Bob Seybold has written this client's copy since 2015. He said, “I think the content for this production is a good example of how a business can identify pains related to the coronavirus pandemic and then use their On Hold Marketing to explain how their products and services can serve as solutions.”

Valuable Content

With so many people working from home during the quarantine, communication systems around the world have been taxed and threats of data breaches have increased. In the CBTS copy, Bob provides related information for callers to think about, from the security issues with videoconferencing, to the increased potential for cyber-attacks. He even reminds callers that their company's leaders may be more willing than ever to increase the budget for information security.

The Client - The Montecito Santa Fe (Our client since 2014)

What They Do

The Montecito Santa Fe is a resort-style retirement community located in northern New Mexico. They provide independent and assisted living options with many conveniences, including a spa and salon, a fitness center, a nightclub and lounge, an on-site restaurant and more.

The Writer’s Thoughts

"I love the personality of this senior living community," said Creative Consultant Cassandra Evans. "Their whole vibe is to 'redefine retirement' and I really like that. I think it livens up the idea of retiring and focusing on yourself, making the best of your golden years. And to support that goal, The Montecito provides some amazing amenities that really outshine the features at other area communities."

Cassandra said that, "Our main contact, Rachel, let us include one or two fun elements - suggestions on what callers could do while at home during the quarantine. She also added her own positive, uplifting messages. She was the first person I talked with who responded to the COVID-19 situation with such positivity. I loved it."

The Content

Since the earliest days of the outbreak, we've been helping our clients share details about their responses to COVID-19. This, though, is the first On Hold Marketing of the Month production to feature content about the pandemic.

We hope this unusual moment in history is brief, but we will continue to provide important updates on behalf of our clients so their callers can stay informed.

The Client - Packaging Specialties (Our client since 1996)

A Long History

This Massachusetts-based company first opened its doors in 1989 (the same year BusinessVoice was founded), and we've been providing their On Hold Marketing most of that time. As of 2020, they are one of our many 25-year clients.

What They Do

Packaging Specialties creates retail packaging products, such as gift, apparel and specialty boxes, as well as many styles of shopping bags. Their products include tissue, ribbon, bows, gift basket supplies, plus gourmet and food service items.

They offer customization services, too, designing and printing to serve the unique needs of their clients.

Packaging Specialties also emphasizes their eco-friendly options, low minimums, and quick turnaround on stock orders.

The Writer’s Thoughts

"The company has always positioned their products as more than just packaging," said BusinessVoice Creative Consultant Cassandra Evans. "They present them as valuable marketing tools that retailers can use to reinforce their brand. Their boxes, bags and accessories also elevate the shopping experience, as well as gift giving and receiving."

The Client’s Thoughts

Barbara Whitney is the Marketing Manager for Packaging Specialties. Recently, she shared a few thoughts on her BusinessVoice copywriter. "Just wanted to send a note about Cassandra [and] provide feedback on her creative copywriting and tone. She really did an amazing job interpreting our brand and product lines perfectly. Thank you!"

The Client - TNBANK (Our client since Feb. 2019)

The Client’s Story

TNBANK was conceived by business owners in East Tennessee. They wanted a bank whose local directors and managers made decisions locally. That idea of hometown banking is ingrained in the company’s culture. In fact, Hometown Banking® has been a registered trademark of TNBANK since November 2002.

The bank now serves three counties from five locations, but they’re still committed to the idea of being a local bank that does business with its neighbors.

The Writer’s Take

“We work to emphasize that hometown nature of TNBANK,” said Senior Creative Consultant Bob Seybold, “so we've created On Hold Marketing for them with a fun, friendly style that supports their strong ties to the communities they serve.”

Bob said, “It's great to work with people who give us an opportunity to tell their story in a way that's relatable for their customers.”

The Client’s Thoughts

“I have nothing but good things to say!” wrote TNBANK Retail Assistant LaKrista Graham. She likes that we’re “so easy to work with” and that the “communication is awesome.”

And TNBANK’s Senior VP of Retail Banking Leslie England wrote, “You have been a joy to work with.”

The Client - Downey (Our client since 2018)

What They Do

Downey is a family-owned HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractor. They’ve been serving businesses and homeowners from their facilities in Bowling Green, Ohio since 1995.

In Need of a Change

Prior to January 2020, we provided Downey with very traditional On Hold Marketing content that focused on their services. But when Creative Consultant Cassandra Evans took over the account, she discovered that our primary contact Jen Backus had a concern. “A few of our customers commented that they were annoyed listening to all of our messages while on hold,” said Jen.

“That alarmed me,” said Cassandra. “And I realized that Downey was ready for a new approach.” That’s when she suggested Humor On Hold™ to our client.

A Great Reaction

“We sent Jen several examples of our humorous On Hold Marketing videos to give her an idea of what’s possible,” said Cassandra. “Halfway through listening to the first recording, she sent me this message: ‘Thank you for all the information and examples! I have only listened to part of the first one, but I LOVE IT! I’m so excited about what I’ve heard so far!’”

Once we sent her the copy for her new production, Jen replied, “The script is awesome. I approve! How exciting! Thank you so much!”

And she was just as happy with the finished product, which you can hear in the video above.
