The Client - Town and Country Hotel (Our client since July 2018)
What Our Client Wanted
In the summer of 2018, we received this message: “We are looking for funny On Hold Messaging that represents our quirky and retro-California style at the Town and Country Hotel in San Diego.”
Now that’s our kind of request!
We love working with clients who see the value in taking a humorous approach with their marketing. In fact, the T&C team was already sprinkling fun elements into their guest experience, including a ceramic bunny garden and their locally famous sign that features light-hearted comments.
So, after we designed an On Hold Marketing program for the hotel, we got to work on their Humor On Hold content.
Who They Are
Town and Country first opened in 1954. After more than six decades in business, much of the property still retains a mid-century modern look. And after their renovations have been completed, the hotel will look even more like a resort from the 1950s and ‘60s.
Naturally, they wanted On Hold Marketing that’s reminiscent of that era as well. So, we worked in references to Soviet-era satellites, hairdos, activity belts, pink flamingos and that laugh riot known as the cold war. Then we backed up the voiceover with three tracks of the surf-rock-style music our client requested.
