Case Study #4
The Client
Toledo / Lucas County Public Library
What They Do
The TLCPL was founded in the mid-19 th century. Over the years, this local institution has become an invaluable resource, serving the public by providing books, periodicals, audio/visual materials and a tremendous variety of programs and educational events. The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is consistently voted one of the top ten library systems in the nation by the Hennen’s American Public Library Ratings.
Primary On Hold Messaging Goal
We help the library maintain high levels of customer service by using On Hold Messaging to answer common caller questions about their many programs and events.
Client Testimonial
“I just wanted to let you know [about] the tremendous response we get from our on hold messages. The messages our patrons hear help promote events and activities system-wide [and] enable us to get a direct and specified message to people we may not reach through traditional measures. And they really listen! In fact, the branches are lining up to have events featured in the messages…[and] we always have patrons asking about events they hear on the recording. I couldn't be happier with how things work and have absolutely no complaints.” - C.Z., former Media Relations Officer / Toledo-Lucas County Public Library

The Library provides so many programs and special events that it can be challenging for patrons to stay up-to-date on all that’s taking place. The On Hold Messaging we’ve created for them since 1996 informs callers about what’s going on at Main Library and its 18 branches, from the “Authors! Authors!” speaker series, the live music programs, and film festival, to educational workshops and seminars, essay contests, and book release parties. BusinessVoice On Hold Messaging serves as a great reminder of the Library’s diverse programming to many thousands of callers each year. Click here for a pop-up copy sample.
