After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communications degree, Scott spent many years as a broadcaster, working for more than a decade in radio and television as a writer, producer, and on-air performer.
Scott began his career with BusinessVoice as one of our freelance voices. His duties expanded in 1993 when he joined the copy staff, and once again in 1996 when he was promoted to the position of Creative Director. Now, along with writing and voicing, Scott oversees the copy department, and handles special creative and marketing projects.
Since he joined BusinessVoice, he’s been recognized many times for his copywriting. His past honors include:
A Best of Show ADDY Award and 3 regional ADDYs from the Fifth District of the American Advertising Federation (Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia)
Two Best of Show Awards from the Toledo Chapter of the American Advertising Federation
Several local ADDY Awards, including 3 Judge's Choice winners
More than a dozen Silver Microphone Awards (National Winners and Finalists)

Scott wrote and performed with a local comedy group for two years, and has written and performed comedic pieces for the Advertising Club of Toledo’s ADDY Awards ceremony. He has directed a few television commercials and, in his younger days, appeared in many TV spots as a spokesman or actor. Scott continues to work as a freelance voiceover talent for WTOL-TV and other clients. He and his wife, Amy, have three children.
